If Only In The Beginning
There Would Not Be An Ending
He will climb the highest mountain
and open the door for her
When she disagrees, he agrees
She will cook for him the finest meal
with candlelight, until he has had his fill
There are no finer clothes that she will wear for him
Then they became hubby and wife
He says, I want to be me
She says, who do you think I am?
She thought he was
He thought she would
In love with what they thought they were
Someone they thought
they should be
A dream they learned from a story book
became reality learned in a small
apartment
on the eastern bay
Wanted to be themselves
Not having what they thought
They sing their divorce song
If they were only themselves in the beginning
There would not be an ending
