John Wayne's Daughter
You're John
Wayne's Daughter
I bet your father's proud of you
You're a forklift, dump truck, Delta driving blaster
A Seabee in the Navy
Serving time in Antarctica
Your body aches
Your heart breaks
A survivor who can still cry
You've stood against the fiercest, coldest winds
You've stood during the toughest storm
You could lift a thousand pounds
But wished you didn't have to
Your shoulders are growing thin
Someday you'll have to let someone help
But you're far from being crushed
You grow wise
But you don't rust
Another 800 days
Your enlistment is up
You want out
But you might stay in
You could write a book
of all the things you're seen and done
Can't wait to rest
And feel the heat of the sun
Yep
You're John Wayne's daughter
I bet your father's proud of you
You're a forklift, dump truck, Delta driving blaster
A Seabee in the Navy
Doing time in Antarctica
